PRESENTATION
"Fire-Proofing Your Heart: The #1 Cause of Line of Duty Death for Firefighters"
Published data shows that between the ages of 55 and 60, the chance of a civilian dying from a heart attack is 1.6%. Within firefighter populations, it is 56%. Dr. Stone explores the scope of heart disease in public safety and why it remains under-identified in mainstream medicine.

PRESENTATION
"STRONG Relationships: Survival Skills for the Firefighter Marriage"
You've been trained to manage chaos and keep your head when everything falls apart — but nobody gave you a manual for what happens when you walk through your own front door. This session introduces the 4 S's of Relational Safety: a practical, evidence-based framework built for first responders who want to be as successful in their relationships as they are at their jobs.

Kristal DeSantis is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and creator of the STRONG Relationship Model, a TEDx speaker, author of STRONG: A Relationship Field Guide for the Modern Man, and clinical trainer specializing in first responder relationships. She is the co-founder of STRONG: The Men's Mental Health Initiative (501c3), and provided frontline Psychological First Aid during the July 4th Texas floods and mental health support at Quantico during Operation Allies Welcome. Kristal has spent over a decade developing evidence-based frameworks for first responders and their families, presenting on relational wellness for departments across Texas. Her 4 S's of Safety — Self-Awareness, Stability, Self-Regulation, and Self-Expression — give first responders practical tools for building strong relationships on shift and at home.
Firefighters often swing between intense training when motivation is high and abandoning routines during sleep deprivation or high call volume. This all-or-nothing pattern leads to inconsistency and stalled progress. This session introduces steady, repeatable strategies for long-term, career-spanning preparedness rather than quick fixes.
